Our extensive new butchery serve over counter was opened in August 2006. This was to compliment our existing range of pre-packed local free-range meat.
The butchery is managed by Kelvin Belmonte, who joined the La Hogue team at Easter 2007. He has vast experience and one of the best reputations in East Anglia as a skilled and quality butcher. Kelvin owned and ran his own butcher’s shop in Bury St Edmunds for 8 years before moving to Balsham, near Cambridge 13 years ago. His traditional butcher’s shop, K K Belmonte Family Butchers saw tremendous success and earned a well deserved far reaching reputation. His shop has been sold to a local farmer.
Kelvin has an excellent relationship with several of the best local producers and farms which we will add to our existing local producers.

All the meats are sourced from local free range farms in Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk including Blytheburgh, S Thompson of Isleham, Messrs Carny, Bungay, Anglia Co-Operative Farmers and Grangeworth Farm, Woodbridge. Also available are free-range and organic chickens from Sutton Hoo (Suffolk). The butchery comprises a comprehensive range of traditional meats which are fully matured (beef and lamb, minimum of 3 weeks) plus local game and wild venison from Suffolk, when in season. We are currently offering speciality sausages and burgers for the BBQ as well as tasty homemade kebabs.
Kelvin can cut specific joints to your exact requirements. Orders can also be placed in advance for specific cuts. Please telephone or order at the butchery counter. |
