The farm shop offers over 3000 products making it an Aladdin’s cave for any food lover. Each product has been carefully selected by the owners Chris & Jo Reeks for both quality taste and the method of production. This makes La Hogue’s product range unique.
An extensive range of locally hand made jams, pickles and chutneys together with delicious pasta and pasta sauces are only the start of it.
Smoked products including salmon, eel, kippers, mussels and duck are sourced from two of the finest smokehouses. Pinneys of Orford (Suffolk) have their own fishing boats and delicately smoke their products from their premises on the Suffolk Coast.
Traditional potted shrimps are made by John & Barbara Rimmer (Stoberry Potted Shrimps, Newmarket) who’s product won a prestigious tasting event run by Country Life Magazine.
Our range of frozen loose fruits, vegetables and pastries are extremely popular as they are of an excellent quality and most importantly customers are able to help themselves to the exact amount required.

Free range eggs come from Mr Perowne from Top Farm, Great Snoring near Fakenham. They use traditional breeds of chicken which are fed on a natural diet producing the tastiest of golden coloured eggs. Local duck, quail and goose eggs are also available in season. We also sell local goose fat from George Munns, Chatteris for the very best roast potatoes.
The most tempting and tantalising range of confectionary and locally made biscuits are on offer together with crisps direct from Tyrells of Herefordshire. Local flour for bread making and cooking comes from an organic farm near Cambridge and there is even home made stock from SHF of Exning only a few miles from the shop.
La Hogue is licensed and there is a good range of locally made ales and cider. Sloe gin, forest fruits whisky and raspberry vodka are just a few varieties of natural fruit liqueurs available in the shop. These are made by Hayley Clark of Ruby's Brew in Suffolk.

Purely Pesto - Currently running monthly promotions - watch out for the delicious NEW Honey & Dill or Herb & Citrus Mayonnaise
Also available: pesto, guacamole, hummous and taramasalata - all made in Suffolk by Gavin Battle from Purely Pesto. Hummous varieties include: Black Eye Bean, Basil & Citrus; Butter Bean, Mint & Lime; Haricot Bean, Rocket & Onion Marmalade; Red Kidney Bean, Chilli & Parsley; Chickpea & Coriander. Pesto varieties include: Coriander Pesto; Parsley Pesto; Rocket Pesto; Sundried Tomato Pesto; Basil Pesto.
All of these can be simply stirred into freshly cooked pasta. Or why not try spreading on tomatoes, grilled vegetables, bread, fish or meat. Scrumptious.
Dorset Crab Company -
Once a common method of preserving fish, this process of gently cooking the crab and blending only the finest crab meat with butter and their secret mix of spices produces a truly mouthwatering snack.
Divine Deli Company -
It is traditional in the Mediterranean to serve oil & vinegar alongside a loaf of bread for dipping. Divine Deli offers an exciting range of bread dipping oils and ceramic tableware.
Riverside Fish Cakes -
Thai fishcakes are the latest addition to Kevin Chapman's Riverside range which already offers, haddock and smoked bacon, and salmon and dill.
SeaCream Range of Frozen Fish -
In addition to this local fish range La Hogue are now stocking the superb SeaCream Raw Tiger Prawns and smoked fish.
Frank's Luxury Biscuits -
Franks's range now include some truely scrumptious cakes we recommend the Lemon Drizzle and Iced Apricot cakes as well as a great selection of fruit flapjacks.
Salad Dressings -
New to La Hogue are the Fusions Range of salad dressings which include Thai, Spice and Herb flavours, all excellent to add some zing to those lovely summer salads.
La Hogue supports over 100 mainly small local producers so if you love food and you're interested in how and where it has been produced and want to buy at competitive prices you will have to visit La Hogue – 2000 customers per week cant be wrong!!! |
